Our Story
Learning shouldn't feel
like a lecture hall.
SPARKLORE was born from a simple question: why do games hold our attention for hours, while most courses lose us in minutes?
The mission started in a cramped dorm room.
In 2021, three cognitive scientists and two game designers met at a machine learning bootcamp. They noticed something striking: the same people who struggled through lecture slides would spend six straight hours grinding challenge problems — as long as those problems had leaderboards, levels, and badges.
The gamification of learning wasn't a gimmick — it was the missing layer in every educational tool they'd ever used. They built the first SPARKLORE prototype in six weeks. The first cohort of 50 beta testers had a 94% completion rate. The second cohort had 200. By the end of year one, they had 40,000 learners across 12 countries.
Today SPARKLORE powers learning for over 847,000 active learners across 42 skill trees, from machine learning to music theory. We're still a small, independent team — and we still believe that the best education feels like the best game you've ever played.
